Cosmetic surgery in Thailand has been a booming business for a number of years. But in the past the customers were mostly foreigners, and a few models, actresses and celebrities. The popularity of plastic surgery has been steadily increasing and now many of the Bangkok celebrities have it. Breast augmentation is not that "big" here. It is more often nose jobs, chin implants, and some eyelid surgery.

But as the trend has steadily increased we now are seeing more marketing of beauty procedures. I found a magazine called Suay Duay Phaet which they subtitle "Beauty Med Magazine" in English. It's sole purpose is to discuss various beauty procedures.

This what you call market creation. Most Thai ladies are already slender, nearly hairless, and have gorgeous skin and hair. But the plastic surgeons what business so they are convincing the young ladies that they need to make their noses longer or chins more pointed like westerners, or need to remove the few last strands of hair that might be in some undesired location.

The cover model on this issue is a gorgeous lady who is interviewed inside about some procedures she had. In her case, it was some things I don't mind that help a lady after she has had a baby. And she certainly looks great so check out the big photos.
