I read that this movie Twilight Saga: New Moon is crazy popular in America. Lately I have seen some commercials for it on TV. I was wondering how popular it would be here because we have our own style of monsters and horror movies so I thought maybe teenage vampires wouldn’t be so popular.
But according to Wise Kwai the movie took in a record 50 million baht on its opening weekend so I guess the Thai kids are into it just like the Americans. The imagery is very cool but blood and killing are not suitable entertainment so I won’t be seeing it.
The reviews I read sound like there is some “beefcake” in the movie, although that guy on the left is weird looking. But I guess no hotties. I wouldn’t consider the star who plays Bella a hottie at all. Sort of cute, but hot? Not.

The reviews I read made it pretty clear that the fans are mostly teenage girls, and some middle age women trying to relive teenage romance.

Yeah it is super popular here in Thailand. All the girls at the office and the other ones I know are either in love with Edward or think he is super handsome! This happened already when the first movie came out.

sweetheart, sometimes one has to see it to change one’s perspective. having not read meyer’s books, i saw the movies and i’m not disappointed. nice screenplay, less gore (compared to the other vampire and zombie movies) and virtually no bloodshed, but a gripping story plus a nice depiction of the gloomy, misty and dark english environment make it a good watch.
