I am sort of surprised about how big the controversy has become over the sexy Leo beer calendar. I have seen stories about it in a number of the international news outlets. Leo has been doing these calendars for a few years now. And other beer makers have done sexy calendars, too. So what happened this time?

From what I read about the law against advertising alcohol in a certain way it seems that all of the calendars are technically illegal. But there was never such a controversy before. Maybe this time it was because it was brought right to government house by one of the PM’s staff, Chitpas Bhirombhakdi, who is a member of the family that owns Singha/Leo beer. It’s like a lot of things in Thailand; you can get away with them as long as you aren’t too “in your face” about it.

You know who produced the calendar? It was Thai supermodel Methinee Kingpayome. She does her own productions and shows. That’s her above and below. When you get big and famous and a little bit older you can do stuff like she does without having our career ruined.
