Regular readers know that I often point out that Thai girls don’t wear bikinis except under special circumstances, like at a private pool area or during a fashion photo shoot. So what does it take to get a Thai girl to pose in a bikini? It could be as much as 10 million baht.
That’s the price sexy Thai model Aum Patcharapa quoted in a recent interview that was translated by Dirtii Laundry. It’s hot season now so the magazines are all going to be doing bikini photo layouts. We probably won’t be seeing one from Aum.

Hihi, this is a nice gossip. Me and my friends still talking about this gossip because Aum is a hi-so and never revealed too much skin before. XD
Aum already got a provocative pose in Image that made many people went “Wow!” and she didn’t wear bikini during that photoshoot. I’m curious how “Wow!” it will be if Aum finally pose in bikini…

She is one of the top models and actresses in the country. So I think that means yes, she is a spoiled you-know-what. Although…so is Nun Woranuch and she is just the sweetest thing, so you don’t have to be spoiled or act like it.

Regular Thai girls do actually wear bikinis nowadays. While it is true that it was an extremely rare sight 7-8 years ago, it is now common to see normal, office working, girl in bikinis on various beaches of Thailand (yes I unfortunately need to precise the kind of girl we are talking about). Some of my friend, married or not included. But yes I am talking about Bangkok girls, I am sure it is still a bit different for country girls.
Globalization has its problems as well as its advantages!
Anyway, in 2010, I welcome an attitude a bit more relaxed where not everybody MUST wear his long jeans and long sleeves shirts to bath in the sea, otherwise risking gossiping and bad talks from fellow Thais.

Truth is I have not seen that. I haven’t been to the beach recently but last year we had a big family get together at a resort area in Prachuab Kirikan. Lots of people on the beach, not a single bikini. Not at the pool either. There may have been bikinis there but they were covered with t-shirts and shorts.

I don’t recommend price skimming even if the person thinks her photos are relatively prestige.

Actually I consider it as a common thing. The more hi-so you are, the more Baht you’ll charge for certain things. Big name means big income, I guess.

Huh? Jessica Simpson can hardly be considered a hi-so, at least from what (Western) people said or posted about her. I agree about ego when talking about Aum, but I don’t think it was ego that made Jessica fart in public. XD
But forget Jessica. I think it’s more like Aum trying to “protect” her image in media. I never seen Aum in bikini before, and I guess she likes it to be like that. I agree with my friends that it was way too overpriced. If Aum didn’t want to pose a bikini, at least she could say that she wasn’t interested wearing bikini. Or maybe it’s her trick of getting income; never posed in bikini, so when people want you to reveal more skin, you can charge them with any price you want. I can’t say it’s a bad financial solution. XD
