Coffee Memories is a coffee shop on Thanarat Road near km 13 across the street from Khrua Khao Yai. You pass it on the way from Pak Chong to the entrance to Khao Yai National Park. They have a selection of hot and cold coffee drinks plus cakes.
Hot coffee drinks are around 40 baht, cold 45 baht and frappe 55 baht. I had a hot cappuccino for 40 baht. It was pretty good. They use regular milk instead of that terrible sweetened milk that some shops use and the quality of coffee beans seems pretty good. I asked them what brand they use and they said Aroma. I don’t know where that brand gets their beans but the taste of the coffee is pretty good. I give it three stars. Their cakes are pretty good, too.
Just so you have an idea of my rating scale, I have not had a five star cup of coffee since I moved back to Thailand. The last time I had five star coffee was when I visited Vancouver. They have so many coffee shops there and lots of delicious coffee. Back here in Thailand the best tasting coffee I have had in my area has been at Starbucks. I know some people don’t like them much but they do make the coffee the right way and they do use good quality beans. On my scale I rate them four stars. Most local shops don’t rate that high but I am determined to find any that do.

We actually have a local gentleman who owns a coffee shop and roasts his own beans. He insists that the roasting is the critical step. Coffee from his shop is far superior to Starbucks, unless the person doing the brewing is exceptionally poor. Guess there’s really no single factor-you can mess up a good cup any number of ways.
Enjoy your coffee.

I would be so excited to find a coffee shop that roasted its own beans in my area.
