You probably have seen all the reports about the flooding in Thailand. It is really bad. Some of the news reports are sometimes strange. Last week the flooding in Ayutthaya allowed some alligators on a farm to escape.
Local government spokesman said not to worry because they are farm alligators and not dangerous to humans like wild alligators. Yesterday this photo circulated showing an alligator entering a house. It doesn’t look like a flooded home to me, looks like a house built on the water with a floating ramp. But I think if that guy is hungry, and he might be, then he could be very dangerous.

Alligator or crocodile? I though alligators were found only in China and the US. And yes, alligators are dangerous, farmed or wild. And having one walk into your house would be…disconcerting, at least.
Croc or gator, we hear about attacks in Australia and sometimes in Africa, but never in SE Asia that I can recall. Are they a problem in Thailand?
Sorry to hear about the flooding problems. Seems that the weather has become more extreme the last couple of years. Hope everything’s OK for you and yours.

Alligator or crocodile? I’m not sure. Alligator is the translation of the Thai word. No news of people attacked yet but they have attacked some cows that were in the flood waters.

Alligator? I thought alligators were only in the U.S. I thought Thailand had crocodiles?

We have one word in Thai that translates to both alligator and crocodile so maybe I used the wrong English word. I added a picture to the post so we can see how they are so different – not so much.

Bad news, period. Alligator or crocodile? Revolver or automatic? A big animal like that….if it breeds successfully in this new terrain human might be the only animal big enough to be worth eating.

Crocodile/alligator! I don’t care what they’re called. I HATE THEM! I will never retire to Florida because of them. If I were to catch one in my yard, because some idiot felt he had to have some sort of exotic pet, and it got out of its pen, I would shoot it, skin, pack the meat in the freezer, and use it’s hide to make an alligator handbag for my wife.
