Every now and then I get an email from a dear reader usually complimenting me on my charm or wit. Sometimes when I reply to thank them for noticing my email gets bounced by their ISP with some message about it looking like spam. I always find that to be very stupid since I am replying to someone and not sending unsolicited email. Seems obvious that the ISP should be able to determine that if someone sends me an email then they are probably expecting a reply and it isn’t spam.
This has happened in the past with AOL, Earthlink and several ISPs that use Message Labs spam detection. And just recently it happened with Comcast. What is really bad is that the person who sent me email thinks I never responded because these stupid ISPs don’t inform them that my reply was blocked. Fortunately, the latest case is a regular reader of my blog so he will see this post. So John, I replied to your email but Comcast blocked it saying that it has the “characteristics of spam.”

Did you ever send that sneak peak? I never got one…

I hate this sort of thing, largely due to my ignorance in knowing how to fix it.
I am finding that I no longer get the sneak peek emails! I used to, and I haven’t changed anything. I tried resubscribing and it said you are already subscribed. There nothing is in my junk folder either.

I haven’t sent a sneak peek in a while. That latest one I talked about I will do soon.

Comcast is not very clever. And it’s hard to imagine that your mail could “have the characteristics of spam.” Particularly given the multitude of spam I DO get.
Very glad to hear you’re OK.

Maybe that is it, you keep teasing with the promise of a sneak peek but don’t send one
