It’s sad news and getting lots of coverage, the death of Michael Jackson. But the quote of the day I think is this one from The Post Chronicle:

I’m comforted by the fact that this is not Thailand and I’m sure the hospital, authorities and family have and have had his remains on complete lockdown.

That is a reference to the release of the David Carradine death photo and later the David Carradine autopsy photo. Nice to see Thailand is mentioned in a bad way again (not).

My Google alert for stories about Thailand had a strange one today. It was a story that David Carradine’ producer claims he was murdered by lady boys. But the really strange part is the blog – it is called Your Funeral Guy. (more…)

I guess the David Carradine story is going to keep Thailand in the international headlines for a while longer because now there are photos published of his autopsy. I saw it mentioned in the comments at AbsolutelyBangkok.com where they had a link to a post at BangkokBugle. Nobody mentions what newspaper but it must be Thai Rath again since they always publish the grisly stuff like that. I usually see that paper when I go out to eat but I did not go out today so I can’t be sure. I checked for details on the story at one of the Hollywood gossip sites called TheInquistr.com and sure enough they have the story and a photo. It’s not grisly photo but I guess if you know what kind of tattoos David Carradine had you would recognize that it is his body. (more…)

I just watched the evening news and saw Dr. Khunying Pornthip make some comments about David Carradine’s death. You might recall she is the famous Thai forensics expert with the wild hair. She played a big role in identifying the tsunami victims, at least until the local police did not like her getting all media attention. (more…)

You probably saw that news that the maid at Park Nai Lert hotel in Bangkok found David Carradine dead in his room. Depending on which news source you get a lot of weird details. The Nation just says he was tied up in a closet. But other sources say he had rope around his neck and his private parts, and it looked like he was doing some weird sex act.

Lots of comments on Twitter about it where it is one of the Trending Topics. I guess a lot of Americans are fans of him. I don’t know if his movies ever made it over here. I never saw them. It’s another sad story with a weird twist. Why do we get so many of those involving farang?
